Laura is based in Madrid!

Born to a Scottish father and Spanish mother, I take pride in my multicultural identity. As a native speaker of both English and Spanish, it's a joy to explore scripts in both languages and bring that cultural perspective to my work.

I studied animation in Madrid at ESDIP and then headed to Italy to try my hand at fine art at the Florence Academy of Art. That experience gave me a strong understanding of anatomy and balance in a pose. As a side effect, I gained a decent level of spoken Italian. Something I've kept up over the years.

Back in Madrid, I took a master's course in storyboarding at Lightbox Academy under Paco Sáez and jumped straight into the world of animation. Storyboarding is where I feel happiest.

Since then, I've worked as a freelance artist for various studios (see some of the clients below). I create live action storyboards for stunt shots and VFX scenes, as well as boards for 2D/3D animation and ad campaigns. The stories range from everyday situations like going bald in middle age and everything that comes with it, to interdimensional portals keeping our hero from coming home.

Anything goes! What matters is how you tell the story.
